LODGING
All student dorms are double occupancy and students are responsible for BRINGING THEIR OWN LINENS (sheets, blankets, pillows, pillowcases, towels, etc.). The beds are extra long twin size (36x80). The Institute will attempt to honor mutual roommate requests. The dorms are fully equipped with air conditioning, vending machines, and laundry facilities. Each floor has a lounge and shower facilities. Students are carefully supervised by a designated Institute dormitory staff and by their daytime instructors. Roll-calls, room-checks, and lights-out are part of our regular monitoring procedures. Students may not leave the campus during the Institute except for designated restaurants and stores adjacent to campus and with Institute staff for official Institute events. As an official UK program, the Institute has close ties to the UK Police and the nationally respected University of Kentucky Hospital system, located one short block from our dorms.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
Morning assemblies with roll call, as well as nightly building check-in and room checks, are part of a daily routine. Adult staff and faculty of the institute reside in the dorms to maintain supervision. Students will not be permitted to leave the campus except to designated stores and fast food restaurants adjacent to the campus, unless escorted by their parents or by the Institute Staff for Institute sponsored functions.

COSTS NOT INCLUDED IN TUITION AND FOOD
Depending upon the individual spending habits, many students will also need additional money for snacks, laundry, and other incidentals.

TRAVEL TO CAMPUS
For a $25 fee, Institute shuttles will run between both the airport and bus station for participants’ arrival and departure. If you attend, more information will be sent to you later on how this system will operate. Taxis are available, of course, if you prefer, but this mode is more expensive.
